Baz Scampion lives in North Norfolk and is a naturalist, having worked professionally for the Wildlife Trusts, Anglia TV on Survival Wildlife films, English Nature and Natural England amongst others.

Baz has a degree in Ecology from the University of East Anglia and now is the managing director of his own company specialising in traditional erosion control techniques using sustainably harvested willow, he is also a semi-professional nature photographer, he travels regularly in search of wildlife in remote regions of the world.

Photography, Conservation, Travel and Wildlife have always been my passion, over the years building up a large data base of pictures, including many birds, butterflies, plants and habitats from Britain particularly Norfolk, Scolt Head Island and its surrounding saltmarshed and around the world.
Baz has published three books about some recent travels in Russia and China regarding expeditions to search for the critically endangered Spoon-billed Sandpiper, The Wildlife of Kamchatka and Chukotka, In search of the Spoon-billed Sandpiper & China in search of the Spoon-billed Sandpiper and also A Naturalist in Sri Lanka looking for Blue Whales with and has had images published in The Butterflies of Southern Amazonia, Birding World. British Birds. Der Falke (German Birds). Wingspan (Australian bird magazine) Heritage Expeditions and Ecotours Brochures (Belarus)(See Links) some images have also been used by various conservation organisations such as the RSPB, Birds Russia, Birdlife International, Arcona Consultants (Saving the Spoon-billed Sandpiper) SBS Newletters, BTO, International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN), Zoological Society of London (ZSL), the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust and National and International Press the New Zealand and Australian Geographic.
